Trediberri – A New Voice in the Langhe

In the world of Barolo, where centuries-old names often dominate the conversation, Trediberri stands out—not as a break from tradition, but as a bold and thoughtful evolution of it. Founded in 2007 by father and son Federico and Nicola Oberto, along with their close friend Vladimiro Rambaldi, Trediberri is the story of three friends (tre di Berri, or "three from Berri") who brought a fresh perspective to one of Italy’s most storied wine regions.

The heart of the estate lies in the cru of Berri, a hillside vineyard just outside La Morra that had long been overlooked but held immense potential. When the trio acquired 5 hectares there in 2007, they committed themselves fully to revealing the site’s character through precise, honest farming and transparent winemaking. From the beginning, Trediberri has championed organic viticulture, eschewing chemical treatments in favor of a deep respect for the land and its rhythms.

Nicola Oberto, now the face of the winery and its driving force in the cellar, represents a new generation of Barolo producers: informed, energetic, and unafraid to blend tradition with innovation. His approach is rooted in classic techniques—spontaneous fermentations, gentle extraction, and aging in large oak—but with a sharp focus on purity, texture, and drinkability. The wines are expressive, balanced, and often approachable in youth without sacrificing ageability.
In addition to their home vineyard in Berri, the winery also works with prized parcels in La Morra’s famed crus, including Rocche dell’Annunziata, one of the most elegant and revered sites in all of Barolo. These vineyards form the backbone of Trediberri’s Barolo bottlings, each wine offering a distinct voice: from the fresh, red-fruited charm of the Barolo Comune di La Morra to the layered, floral complexity of their Rocche dell’Annunziata.

But Trediberri is not limited to Barolo. The estate also produces compelling Dolcetto, Barbera, and Nebbiolo d’Alba—wines that show the same clarity and vibrancy as their more serious counterparts. Each bottling is made with the same care, aimed at showcasing the best qualities of the grape and the site.
What defines Trediberri isn’t just their youth, but their clarity of vision. They’re building a new kind of legacy in the Langhe—one rooted in openness, curiosity, and a deep commitment to authenticity. In a region steeped in tradition, Trediberri is proof that new voices can speak just as powerfully.
